This week, the children have started to construct their pencil cases. The outlines were transferred on to felt before the holidays and have all now been cut out. We are using an overcast stitch to join the two side of the case together and then we will decorate the outside and finally add a fastening. Some of the children have needed plenty of Farfield perseverance to keep going as we have had plenty of knots, tangles and unthreaded needles. However, the results are encouraging and we are all enjoying the experience.

In English, we have started to look at persuasive writing and have been analysing adverts to understand how people are attracted to products. We also had a fun logo quiz to see how aware we are of products and companies. Click on the link below to try it yourself.

3B have seen the first of their sunflowers in bloom. The poorer weather this year has meant that they aren’t as tall as last and have flowered earlier. The bonus is that we will have longer to enjoy the display they create.

Special mentions this week go to Jameela, Haris, Hibah and Alfie. Well done!

Have a great weekend.

Mr Beevers and Mr Winfield.
