Our trip to the synagogue

Friday 24th November | 1 comment

It has been a very busy few days in Year 3. Both classes enjoyed their visit to the synagogue at the start of the week, bringing first hand experiences to their RE learning. All the children were very active in answering and asking questions and their behaviour was a credit to themselves and the school.

The daily run has become part of the normal school day, and several children are well on their way to reaching the magic marathon distance of 26.2 miles or 42.2km. Zak in 3M and Peter and Sonny in 3B have completed at least 30km and should hopefully complete their first marathon in the next week. However, all the children in the year group are making a massive effort to participate and achieve as much as they are able. Well done and keep going!

We would like to remind children that at this time of year the school grounds become rather wet, muddy and slippy and this week has seen some very soggy accidents. Whilst we do allow play on the fields most of the time, there are occasions when the only option is to keep to the tarmacked areas. If children do go on the grass, they will need to wear wellies and also take responsibility for keeping clean. All children must change into indoor shoes when they come into school so that the carpets stay clean.

Next week in Literacy, we will be looking at and learning some poems. If you would like to share your favourite poem in class, then please bring in a copy for your friends to hear. Hopefully we have lots of children ready to read them out as this will show their performance skills.

Well done to those children who received a special mention today in assembly for their fantastic attitude in school.

Have a lovely weekend!

The trip looks great. We’ve been talking about the Torah and the ark this week, and I’ve learned plenty as well!
