End of Half Term

Friday 20th October | 2 comments

Year 3 have had a brilliant end to the half term. We have learnt so much!

Children have learnt lots of new facts around the Stone Age Era. They investigated early human life including how homo sapiens would have hunted for food and the changes that happened throughout the Stone Age.

In Maths we have learnt all about place value, addition and subtraction. Year 3 can now use the formal written methods of column addition and subtraction to help them solve problems. Next half term we will be moving on to multiplication and division. It would be great if at home over the half term children practise their multiplication tables.

In English we have looked at lots of different features that children can include in all their future writing. These include prepositions, time connectives, conjunctions and direct speech. Year 3 ended this half term’s English topic by writing fantastic diary entries. Next half term we will be looking at poetry and traditional tales.

We hope you all have a restful week off and come back recharged and ready.

Ashwin has learnt how to do column addition in class and said that was his favourite. Everyone enjoy half term and have a great break

Well done to all the children in year 3! You’ve all worked hard and seem to be settling well!
