Children in Need

Friday 17th November | 4 comments

This week has been very busy in Year 3.

Friday was Children in Need day and so everyone came to school in their best Pudsey Bear themed clothes. The children had the chance to give a donation and to win a massive jar of sweets by guessing how many were in it. After using her great estimation skills, Gracie pipped the whole school by picking the correct number. 3B also learned about the history of the charity event during their guided reading lesson. 3M looked at Logan’s story and created a mood board to represent his feelings before and after he was helped by Children in Need.

This week has been Anti-bullying Week and the children have been working on the theme All Different, All Equal. 3B made posters showing something that they liked to do and then had great fun presenting them in a video. Remarkably, this only took two attempts!

In Literacy, the children have started to complete their own story in the style of a traditional tale. There are some epic adventures involving fierce dragons, beautiful princesses and brave knights and the teachers are looking forward to reading the finished work.

On Friday afternoon, both classes presented their latest learning log work. It is brilliant to see the effort that the children make at home and the help they get is very much appreciated.

Well done to those children who had a special mention. Olivia and Faran were chosen for being great learners, especially in Maths. Aarav and Erin were chosen for being healthy and a good citizen respectively. Aarav was also Mathlete of the Week.

Please remember that the trips to the synagogue are on Monday (3B) and Tuesday (3M). Children should cover their heads either with a hat, cap or scarf.

Have a great weekend.

It was lovely to see you all in your Children in Need clothes and to hear about anti bullying. It would be great to hear your traditional stories?
