An unbeleafably busy week!

Friday 13th March | 1 comment

This week the children explored the school grounds to collect a range of leaves. We then looked carefully at the textures, shapes and patterns of the leaves using magnifying glasses. We grouped the leaves into different categories and looked carefully for patterns within the different categories. The children showed some fantastic observational skills during this.

We have continued to work on length in Maths. The children looked at adding and subtracting lengths. They rose to the challenge of converting measurements well! We represented our calculations in a range of ways and discussed which might be the best method and why.

In English, we have continued working with the book “Leon and the place between”. The children discussed different types of adverbs and improved the boring sentence “The boy went into the tent.” The children had some fantastic ideas and we were impressed by the range of adverbs they generated!

Both classes had a fantastic Extreme Learning percentage this week (both classes had over 90%!). Keep up the hard work!

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Chambers, Miss Ellis and the Year 3 team
