Good morning Year 3,

It’s been a fantastic week of learning and I hope you’ve managed to enjoy some of the sunshine. You’ve continued to impress us with your hard work this week and we’ve been particularly impressed by your descriptions yesterday. Here are some brilliant examples:
Jeevan – In the far distance Mount Vesuvius is kissing the sapphire sky. Aoife – The gorgeous aroma of freshly baked bread wandered out of the bakery making my mouth water.
Will – I could hear the calm chatter of the carefree, busy, market traders selling their goods.
Isla.W – By the waterfront, wooden boats sailed on the crystal blue waves. Joe – The bay was bustling with tradesmen loading their boats with fragrant spices and delicious wine.

Online learning
Here is your learning for today:
English– Complete the word of the day starter activity in your home learning book. Listen to the rest of the story (from 4:22 minutes) before completing the first task in your home learning book. Complete your descriptive writing on the google docs. You can choose to write individual sentences or a paragraph that flows. It is expected that you write at least 5 high quality sentences.

Maths– Work through the PowerPoint in your home learning book to learn about Roman Numerals. Then, upload a picture of your work.

Challenge! When you’re next out on a walk why not go on an angle hunt! This week, we had lots of fun finding acute, obtuse and right angles around the school grounds.  Here are some of the photos we took.

Science: (posted on your class’ google classroom) Work through the PowerPoint then design your own healthy meal using the sheet from your previous pack (The sheet is attached to the assignment so you know what you’re looking for).

Google meets

Friday: English 10am, Maths 11am, 3E story time and catch up 2pm.

We are just in the lead on TT rockstars. The competition will close at 3pm today. Can we be victorious for a third time?

Home learning packs

Another fortnight has already passed and home learning packs are ready to collect from the Junior hall from 9-12 tomorrow. Any siblings in school will be given them to take home for brothers and sisters (and may have done so already). If you can collect for friends or others on your street, that is always helpful. Please wait at the door and remain socially distant. We have included a cover letter and new home learning book in each child’s pack.

Have a lovely weekend and remember to send us photos of any of the fun activities you do at home.

Miss Chambers, Miss Ellis and the year 3 team.
