A week of change

This week in Year 3, we welcomed Mrs Wilson and Mr Garlick back to Key Stage 2. They have had a fantastic week working with 3C and are very impressed with how well the children have settled into their new class.

In Maths, we have comparing objects and numbers to 1000 using the < and > signs. The children have shown great confidence with their understanding of place value. We have been particularly impressed with their independence in collecting resources to support their learning. Having used the Chromebooks in our Maths lessons, we are quickly becoming rock stars and improving our times table knowledge. Remember you could do this at home as part of your extreme learning! Can you become a Rock Hero?

We have begun our work on explanation texts this week. We began by looking at different examples and how they are structured. We are very much looking forward to writing our own next week based on our very own inventions!

This week’s homework is a maths based task on comparing numbers – due Wednesday 2nd October.

Have a great weekend!

Miss Ellis, Mr Garlick and Mrs Wilson
